The backgrounds of our lawyers differentiate them from other attorneys in the community. Christian Van Riper is a former prosecutor for the state of Florida. Because he knows how prosecutors try criminal cases, he can create proactive legal strategies for our criminal defense clients. Before becoming an attorney, he was an investigator with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), giving him a unique perspective into not only criminal cases, but also family law and divorce cases.

Tim Nies is a veteran of the U.S. Army Airborne Rangers and a former insurance company casualty attorney representing Fortune 500 companies. Injured in the line of duty during a parachute mission, Tim worked hard to recover from his physical injuries. His experiences provide him with valuable insight into the daily struggles of people who have been injured due to the carelessness of others. He has a deep understanding of the policies and tactics used by insurance companies. During law school, Tim was a law clerk for a well-known South Florida appellate attorney.

Now as criminal defense, personal injury, divorce and civil litigation attorneys, Tim and Christian use their past experiences to analyze cases using different perspectives. They are able to identify potential issues that may occur with each case and create proactive strategies. If necessary, Tim and Christian will take their clients’ cases to trial. That is, after all, what they are hired to do.
