About Gaudenzia

 

Serving about 20,000 individuals annually, Gaudenzia operates 151 drug and alcohol treatment programs for men and women in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. Services include specialty programs for pregnant and parenting mothers, adolescents, and people suffering from co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse.

Gaudenzia continues to improve and expand our services, helping individuals, families and communities overcome the ravages of addiction.

Today, 23 million Americans are addicted to alcohol or drugs, but only 10% actually enter into an appropriate treatment program.

Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services

A leader in the addiction treatment and recovery services field since 1968, Gaudenzia offers programs to best serve the needs of our diverse and ever-changing client population.

Adult Residential Services

Short, intermediate and long term substance abuse and mental health services are available for adults, women with children, homeless individuals, and HIV symptomatic substance abusers.

Outpatient Services

Traditional counseling is provided in outpatient settings including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Partial Hospitalization, and diversified prevention programs.

Adolescent Services

For teens seeking recovery from chemical dependency, Gaudenzia offers both residential and outpatient programs.

Mental Health Residential Services

Specialized services to treat individuals whose chemical dependency co-occurs with mental disorders.

Prison Services

Specialized programs for individuals involved in the criminal justice system including services for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.

Transitional and Permanent Housing

Gaudenzia Center for Higher Education grew out of an ever pressing need to replace the pool of entry level human services workers in the fields of substance abuse, mental health and criminal justice services. The center currently has a working relationship with the following institutions of higher learning:

Gaudenzia Training Institute provides roughly 228 training offerings to over 3000 human service and behavioral health professionals on a yearly bases. We continue to train our staff on how to take online CEU seminars. We currently are providing an array of trainings for both Gaudenzia Crossroads in Erie, PA and Gaudenzia RAP in Washington DC.

Gaudenzia Relias Learning Program offers training curriculums that correlate with each employee’s position. Each curriculum contains mondules of topics that are of the behavioral health, administrative and personnel subject matters.

 

The courses are accredited by various organizations and can be completed on any device with high speed internet access. Gaudenzia Peer Leadership Program is a twelve month job development program which entails eighteen weeks of training three days a week, a six week internship at a designated Gaudenzia program four days a week for six hours, followed by a six month on-the-job training experience. The goal of the program is to prepare individuals to attain self-sufficiency through employment as House Managers with a potential career path within Gaudenzia. Participants must be referred by a Gaudenzia Division Director and have one year of sobriety by the completion of the program. Participants are then eligible to sit for the (PCB) Certified Recovery Specialist Examination and Servsafe Certification upon successful completion of the program. Peer Leadership Programs are scheduled in four areas for the 2017 – 2018 fiscal year.

 

Gaudenzia Project Entry: A ten week skills development program designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of current House Managers. The program has successfully trained 12 cohorts across the organization, six in the Eastern Region, two in the Central Region, two in the Chesapeake Region and two in Erie. Upon successful completion trainees are eligible to sit for the (PCB) Certified Recovery Specialist Examination and Servsafe Certification.

 

Upon successful completion of the Project Entry and Peer Leadership Programs, we continue to work closely with the trainees to provide the mentoring and referrals sources necessary for entrance into higher education institutions.
