Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs in Virginia

Bridging The Gaps is a CARF accredited treatment center located in Winchester, Virginia that concentrates on helping adults recover from drug and alcohol addiction. Unlike other addiction rehab facilities, our treatment philosophy “bridges the gap” between addiction and recovery by combining integrative modalities that treat the root of the addiction therefore providing a solid foundation for recovery.

We offer a full spectrum of treatment to adults in Virginia or out of state, as we are located within hours of West Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. With only 24 beds and a small town atmosphere, we offer private and personal treatment with close access to a large and diverse  12 step community.

Each program typically lasts between 45 and 120 days, but can vary with each individual depending on how they progress through their treatment plan.

Physical and Emotional Balance

The first phase of the BTG program is focused on physical and emotional stabilization.  Throughout a client’s course of treatment, a variety of treatment modalities are offered including:

BTG is committed to helping all people who suffer from substance use disorders find the treatment services that they deserve. Our Partial Hospitalization (PHP) program (commonly referred to as day treatment) reflects our commitment to a full continuum of care and offers a rigorous option for individuals whose needs and circumstances make them candidates for a non-residential program.

By combining intensive, structured sessions and individualized attention with live-at-home flexibility, day treatment effectively addresses key issues and barriers to recovery at a lower cost than residential treatment.

Designed to Maintain Abstinence

Our continuing care (outpatient) program provides treatment for those that have engaged in the continuum of care at Bridging the Gaps or another treatment facility. The program provides accountability, support, and structure for maintaining long-term sobriety.

Within continuing care, the clients are provided with a therapeutic outlet to talk with their peers and a counselor about their life stressors, triggers and cravings, and navigating life in sobriety.

The continuing care program includes:

  • A weekly 90 minute group session
  • A weekly 60 minute individual session (optional)
  • Accountability for maintaining sobriety through regular urinalysis screens and 12 step meetings

The commitment to the continuing care program is 44 weeks over the course of a year. In addition to the group and individual sessions, clients are expected to attend a minimum of three 12 Step meetings a week and be actively working with a 12 step sponsor.
