Sec. 2. 23 V.S.A. §1213
First offender may be eligible for ignition interlock restricted driver’s license after 30 days of a 90 day suspension. For second offense, the offender may be eligible for an ignition interlock restricted driver’s license after 90 day of the 180 day sentence.
Persons who elect to obtain an ignition interlock RDL following a conviction under this subchapter when the person’s BAC is 0.16 or more shall be required to install an ignition interlock device with a Global Positioning System feature.
Second or subsequent offenders must install an ignition interlock device for 18 months before a driver’s license will be reinstated.
Tampering or attempting to circumvent the interlock is a criminal offence and if convicted the period of use is extended by 6 months.
