ASCC offers affordable accommodating client-centered therapy. ASCC is a human service agency providing mental health and substance abuse counseling for the Central Michigan area. We are easily accessible for people living in Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Mecosta, Midland,
Montcalm and Osceola counties.We provide a variety of services, including substance abuse assessment for lawyers and courts, as well as alcohol education classes. Please see our services page for a complete list of our offerings.
With a diverse and welcoming staff, our first priority is providing you with comfortable and confidential service. Language interpreters, including American Sign Language, are available upon request. We accept several forms of insurance, including Medicare and Blue Cross, as well as offer subsidized treatment and sliding scale options. See our insurance and payment page for more information.
An abbreviated assessment often required by courts, colleges, or other agencies used to evaluate whether someone has an unhealthy use of substances of abuse, including alcohol. Approximately 1.5 hours to complete.
These are single episode group-format interventions, usually recommended for first-time offenders. These classes offer education about physiological and other consequences of continued substance use. Usually offered once a month on Saturdays. Can be offered in a one-on-one format at other times, but may incur an extra fee.
An assessment required by the Michigan Secretary of State Office when requesting reinstatement of your driver’s license. Approximately 1.5 hours to complete.
A thorough assessment exploring many areas of your life. This is completed when starting a course of treatment longer than those listed above. Approximately 1.5-2.5 hours to complete.
A series of one-on-one interactions between you and a member of our clinical team, tailored to meet your unique needs. Provided for those seeking help with mental health concerns, substance abuse concems, or a combination of both. Individual sessions are typically one hour in length.
Counseling Work focused on strengthening your family system. Sessions are typically one hour or longer. NOTE: Many insurance providers do not cover family or couples sessions (consult your insurance carrier).
A group therapy for substance abuse issues that meets two times per week, 1.5 hours a night. Participants usually attend intensive relapse prevention for six weeks and then transition to individual work to focus on their unique concerns.
Currently offered in one-on-one sessions. Anger management explores how you deal with intense emotions, helping you to create a plan for expressing yourself in safe and productive ways. Length of treatment is dependent on needs of the client but is typically 12 sessions. Anger management can be offered for up to 52 sessions.
A series of one-on-one interactions between you and a member of our clinical team, who is a certified Gambling Addiction Therapist. Sessions are one hour in length. Currently this service is provided at no cost to the client due to the availability of state funding.
Commercial insurance companies generally apply co-payment, deductible, or coinsurance fees to client responsibility. Benefits quoted are not a guarantee of payment, and are subject to the terms, limitations, and eligibility of the policy for the date of service. Each insurance policy provides different benefits, and those benefits will be determined after the first appointment. Payments for services are due at the time of service. Any co-pays/charges that are not covered by any funding sources including; state funding or commercial insurance are due at the time of each appointment. ASCC is a Medicare provider for both mental health and substance abuse concerns. We are an in-network provider for several insurances and are willing to work with any insurance; see our insurance list below for providers that We have worked with.
Sliding fee scale is available for those Without insurance. Please call for details.
NOTE: We are not able to bill Medicaid or Adult Benefit Waiver for clients without substance abuse concerns.
Services are available for those with Medicaid insurance provided that they reside Within our service area.
Partial payment assistance is available for clients presenting with a substance abuse concern. To be eligible for this benefit, you must meet income guidelines and reside within our service area. Currently this benefit pays all but $10 for individual sessions and $5 for group sessions. Adjustments are made to income guidelines and benefit amount on October l of every year.
