Rhode Island Ignition Interlock Requirements, §§31-27-2(d)(2) and (3); §31-27-2.8
Beginning January 1, 2015, convicted DUI offenders with a blood alcohol content at 0.15 or above, repeat DUI offenders and offenders who repeatedly refuse BAC tests must install ignition interlock devices. Third or subsequent offender may be required to use these devices for 2 years. Requirements begin following the completion of any incarceration period.
Exemptions: Employer.
