You should start working with an experienced DUI attorney as soon as possible after your arrest. Your attorney will help you to challenge the suspension and will represent you at the Formal Review Hearing. If the Formal Review Hearing is successful, first-time offenders may be granted a restricted license. If the proceedings are successful for repeat offenders, they may be able to receive a restricted permit. However, if the proceedings are unsuccessful and this is your first refusal, you will lose your right to drive for 90 days. If this is a repeat refusal, you will lose your driving privileges for 18 months.
