Ignition interlock devices require you to pass a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) test before your car will start. These devices are designed to hook up to your vehicle’s ignition system. You may be required to have an ignition interlock device on your car if you have:
- Received a 1st offense of a DUI with a BAC of 0.15% or more
- Caused an accident as the result of your DUI
- Committed a DUI with a passenger younger than 14 years old in the car
- Refuse a chemical test
- Have committed multiple DUIs
